Dr Tho Dang is a health economist and applied econometrician, having more than 17 years of experience conducting research in the field of health technology assessment, labour economics, and policy advocacy. She has been involving in multidisciplinary research projects on mental health, infectious diseases (tuberculosis and COVID-19), chronic respiratory diseases (COPD and asthma), neurological disorders, antimicrobial resistance, nutrition, maternal and child health, and digital health.
Tho obtained her PhD (Health Economics) and MSc (Health Economics) from The University of Queensland. She holds a Bachelor of Economics from Cong Doan University (Vietnam).
She joined Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation as a Veteran Mental Health Research Fellow in August 2023. Tho is involved in projects that investigate the spillover effects of military service on health and wellbeing in veterans’ families, optimise the translation and implementation of the veterans’ peer-led seeking safety practice model, and empower health literacy in veterans and their families.
She is committed to delivering high quality research that improves the health, quality of life and wellbeing of veterans and their families in Australia and beyond.
