Dr Amanda Dines OAM (chair)
Director General Health Reserve – Air Force at Royal Australian Air Force
Dr Amanda Dines is an Air Commodore in the Royal Australian Air Force and currently serves in a part time capacity as the Director General Health Reserve – Air Force. Since 2014 she has also served as an Honorary Aide de Camp to the Governor General of Australia.
Dr Dines is a medical practitioner with fellowships in General Practice and Medical Administration, and a masters degree in Public Health in health care management from the Harvard School of Public Health. She was previously Executive Director Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Director Medical Services Redcliffe Hospital.
In 2021, Dr Dines was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to medicine. Dr Dines has also been Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Queensland Medical School since 2018.
Dr Dines joined the GMRF board in 2020.
PROFESSOR SCOTT BELL
CEO, Translational Research Institute (TRI)
Professor Scott Bell is the Chief Executive of the Translational Research Institute and a Senior Physician of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre at TPCH (>320 patients) where he has worked since 1996 in Brisbane. He leads the Lung Bacteria Laboratory at UQ’s Children’s Health Research Centre.
Scott has >250 peer reviewed publications and has received grant support >$22 million over the past 10 years. His research interests include the CF microbiology, acquisition pathways for human infection and has a long history of supporting multi-disciplinary research. He has been principal investigator on numerous pivotal CFTR modulator trials and is global principal investigator on a novel approach to combination therapies for CFTR correction. He has been the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cystic Fibrosis since 2013.
PROFESSOR STEPHEN GRAY
Professor of Finance at University of Queensland, Director at Frontier Economics
Stephen Gray has been a Professor of Finance at the University of Queensland since 2000, and a Director of advisory firm Frontier Economics since 2014.
He teaches a range of award and executive education courses in financial management, asset valuation, and corporate finance.
Stephen is an active consultant to industry on issues relating to valuation, cost of capital, and corporate financial strategy. He has acted as a consultant to many of Australia’s leading companies, government agencies, and regulatory bodies and has appeared as an independent expert in a number of court and tribunal proceedings.
Stephen has Honours degrees in Commerce and Law from the University of Queensland and a PhD in Financial Economics from Stanford University.
Dr Bernadette Boss CSC

Dr Bernadette Boss is a highly accomplished, influential executive with extensive experience leading policy reforms, strategic direction and large-scale transformations within a business and government setting. Dr Boss has demonstrated ongoing success providing advice on matters pertaining to the Australian and International Law, compliance, assurance, corporate governance, strategy, operations, risk management and human rights. Dr Boss has a proven track record leading large cross-functional teams and projects while building capabilities and maintaining high employee engagement and retention rate. Focused on building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while influencing mutual yet favourable outcomes.
Dr Robert Herkes

Dr Robert Herkes commenced as Chief Medical Officer for Ramsay Health Care Australia in April 2021. He is a highly respected senior clinician and leader in intensive care medicine, with extensive operating and leadership experience in the development, evolution and provision of critical care services at both state and national levels.
Justin Greenwell (Deputy Chair)
Chief Executive Officer – Greenslopes Private Hospital
Justin is a highly regarded leader who has extensive experience in senior
healthcare roles. Justin took on his current role as Chief Executive Officer of Greenslopes Private Hospital in August 2023. Prior to this Justin was appointed by the Ramsay Health Care Group in May 2020 as Chief Executive Officer to oversee its network of private hospitals on the Sunshine Coast. He led the high-performing teams at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, Nambour Selangor Private Hospital and Noosa Hospital until his appointment at Greenslopes Private Hospital, Australia’s largest private teaching hospital.
Justin has been the Deputy CEO for Mater in Queensland, spent five years leading at Knox Private Hospital in Victoria and five years as Director of Clinical Services at Epworth Freemasons Hospital in Melbourne.
As well as broad experience in both for-profit and non-profit healthcare businesses, Justin has completed a master’s degree in the field of Health Administration and was a non-executive director on the Board of Adventist Healthcare for six years.
Justin started his career as an operating theatre nurse and was the Assistant Director of Clinical Services at Greenslopes Private Hospital from 2004-2007.
Justin is passionate about creating a positive and supportive environment in the health care sector for people, patients, and doctors.
Brendan Cox
CEO Legacy Brisbane
Brendan Cox commenced his career as a soldier and retired as a
Lieutenant Colonel in the Australian Infantry and has deployed to the Former Yugoslavia, Timor Leste and Afghanistan. On transition, Brendan was General Manager of an award-winning Financial Services firm prior to accepting his appointment as CEO Legacy Brisbane in 2016.
Brendan is a graduate of AICD, has a Masters in Business and a Masters in Defence Studies and has completed a Harvard Fellowship (2018) and
more recently a Churchill Fellowship (2023) to investigate better models of
care in supporting families with a veteran suffering psychological injury.
Brendan has numerous military awards and commendations including the
Commendation for Distinguished Service (Afghanistan) awarded in the
2014 Australia Day Honours List.

Jane (Brumfield) Edwards is recognised as one of Australia’s leading businesswomen, with a public relations and media career spanning more than 35 years.
For more than 30 years, Jane has led BBS’ operations in Australia and the Asia Pacific. She serves on numerous private and public sector boards, is a regular public speaker on leadership and professional development, and coaches and mentors senior executives and leaders.
Jane maintains long standing personal relationships with experts and thought leaders across a broad range of industries and has high level contacts in the Queensland State and Federal Government.
Jane was the first woman in 103 years to Chair the Queensland Art Gallery Board of Trustees and was the founding Chairman of the Premier’s Literary Awards, which flourished under her stewardship for twelve years.
She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) and the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) and an adjunct professor at The University of Queensland.
