Gallipoli Medical Research proudly recognises The Digger’s Dozen, a dedicated group of volunteers who have been making a difference for veterans, patients and medical research for over three decades at Greenslopes Private Hospital.
Entirely volunteer-run, The Digger’s Dozen raises funds through community initiatives which go toward research into veteran mental health, clinical trials, and liver and respiratory disease. This financial year alone, the group has raised almost $10,000 through a series of raffles, their popular Bookfest event, and Lions Club cake sales.
For the past 36 years, their extraordinary long-term commitment has been a cornerstone of community support at Greenslopes Private Hospital—and has seen The Digger’s Dozen raise more than $400,000 in support of GMR’s vital medical research since 1995.
More than fundraisers, the passion and dedication of The Digger’s Dozen reflects the true spirit of service, compassion and community.
“The Digger’s Dozen have made an incredible contribution over many years,” says GMR CEO, Miriam Kent.
“Their passion, generosity and advocacy continue to make a meaningful difference to veterans, patients and families in our community.”
As GMR celebrates National Volunteer Week, we extend our sincere thanks to The Digger’s Dozen and all volunteers who help shape a healthier future. If you would like to get involved and join The Digger’s Dozen, we would love to hear from you.
