Supporting veterans through sport

The Friends of Gallipoli Medical Research initiative brings together Queensland’s peak sporting bodies with the veteran community to foster healthier and connected lives through research.

Queensland sporting bodies are joining forces with Gallipoli Medical Research to support veterans and their families through awareness, advocacy, and fundraising.

Earlier this year, Invictus Australia released a report authored by respected researcher, Dr Miranda Van Hooff (who is also Gallipoli Medical Research’s Lead Military Families Researcher), which included references to more than 170 research articles exploring the benefit of sport and the application of these insights for the Defence community.
