Associate Director of Clinical Trials, Gallipoli Medical Research
On 20 May 2026, International Clinical Trials Day, we recognise the people, partnerships, and patients who help answer that question every day—often quietly, but always with profound impact.
At Gallipoli Medical Research, clinical trials are more than a scientific endeavour; they are a commitment to improving lives. As a not-for-profit clinical trial site based in Brisbane, our work sits at the intersection of discovery and care, what we like to call the coal face of medical innovation. It is here that promising therapies move beyond theory and into the hands of patients who need them most.
Across oncology, haematology, respiratory, and liver disease, we are privileged to offer patients access to novel treatments that would otherwise not be available in Queensland. For many, participation in a clinical trial represents hope: hope for better outcomes, improved quality of life, or simply more time. But it is also an act of generosity. Every participant contributes to a broader legacy, helping shape the future of medicine for others.
This work would not be possible without collaboration. At the heart of our success is a deeply integrated partnership with the exceptional clinicians at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Their expertise, compassion, and unwavering dedication to patient care ensure every trial is grounded in clinical excellence. Alongside them are our outstanding nursing teams, whose skill and empathy provide continuity, reassurance, and safety throughout the trial journey.
Behind the scenes, our trial partners, coordinators, and clinical trial professionals at Gallipoli Medical Research bring precision and passion to every detail. Their work spans regulatory compliance, patient engagement, data integrity, and ethical oversight—each element critical to ensuring trials are safe, credible, and meaningful.
Clinical trials are sometimes misunderstood as experimental or uncertain. In reality, they are among the most carefully governed activities in healthcare. Every study undergoes rigorous ethical review, follows strict protocols, and is continuously monitored to safeguard participants. For patients, this means access not only to innovative therapies, but to a level of care that is closely supervised and highly personalised.
Our ethos is simple: patient-centred and grounded in community need. We believe innovation must always serve people, and that progress in medicine is measured not just in discoveries, but in lives improved. In Brisbane and beyond, we are proud to contribute to a global effort, one that depends on trust, transparency, and collaboration.
On this International Clinical Trials Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to the patients and families who place their trust in us, the clinicians and nurses who deliver care with excellence, and the teams who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Together, we are not only advancing science—we are shaping a healthier future.
