In December, Cancer Wellness Program participants turned their talents into treasure and raised vital funds for the annual Cancer Wellness Christmas Markets.
Each year, almost 10,000 patients undergo cancer treatment at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Funded by Gallipoli Medical Research, the Cancer Wellness Program supports patients and their families with practical advice, helpful resources and compassionate support—helping make the treatment journey a little smoother, both during and beyond care.
In 2025, 56 cancer wellness sessions were run, with 410 people participating in creative workshops, pilates classes, morning teas, survivorship workshops, and education sessions.
The creative workshops included crafting jewellery and gifts, kokedamas, line-drawn teacups and saucers, paint-poured tumblers, suncatchers, pottery, Wellness Journals, ink clocks, and Christmas earrings and baubles.
Participants sold crafts made at the workshops, as well as home-made baked goods and sewing projects, to raise $2,313, which will fund even more great workshops and education sessions that support participants going through cancer treatment.
