VETERANS AND MEDICATION SAFETY: UNDERSTANDING AND IMPROVING PRACTICES

Being medication savvy is important for the many Australian Defence Force veterans who routinely take multiple medications. A new study by Gallipoli Medical Research aims to understand veterans’ knowledge about safe use of their medications and seek their recommendations to improve medication education.

WHAT:
We are seeking ex-serving ADF veterans who are taking two or more prescribed medications to complete a 30-minute online survey about your knowledge and understanding of the safe use of the medications you have been prescribed, and what your preferences are regarding how your treatment is managed.

WHY:

Your participation will help us to better understand veterans’ medication needs and develop an educational resource to help veterans safely and appropriately manage their health conditions.

WHO:

To be eligible to participate, you are required to be:

  1. 18+ years of age.
  2. An ex-serving member of the Australian Defence Force
  3. Taking two or more prescribed medications to treat one or more psychological or physical health conditions.
