Gallipoli Medical Research (GMR) is investigating the lived experiences of Queensland veterans and their families in accessing healthcare, education, employment, housing and social participation.

The research will inform the Queensland Government’s ongoing monitoring and improvement of veteran support programs, helping ensure they are responsive, locally tailored and effective across urban, regional and remote communities.
What’s involved
– A quick phone call to check eligibility
– Option 1: a small group discussion via Microsoft Teams (2 hours); or
– Option 2: an individual discussion via Microsoft Teams (approximately 45 minutes)
You can pick the option that suits you best pending availability.
Who can take part
Ex-serving Defence members, or family of ex-serving Defence members who are:
– Currently residing in Queensland, and-
– Aged 18 years and over, and
– Not currently serving in the ADF, and
– Not currently hospitalised.
We are seeking a diverse range of voices:
We welcome anyone meeting the above criteria to take part! This includes but is not limited to:
– Young veterans and families,
– Female veterans,
– Medically discharged veterans and their families,
– Individuals in urban, regional, rural, and remote areas of QLD, and
– Veterans and families navigating challenges with income, housing, or education.
Your privacy is very important and will be protected; we will not share your name or personal details. Participation is voluntary and you may withdraw from the study at any time without penalty. Ethical aspects of this study have been approved by the DDVA HREC (project number 726-26).
