Dr. Sarah Hampton is a Clinical Psychologist who currently works as a Research Officer at Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation (GMRF). Since completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2014, Dr. Hampton has worked with current and ex-serving ADF members and emergency services personnel with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other psychological co-morbidities across a range of hospital, private practice, and research trial settings.
Dr. Hampton’s work at GMRF has focused primarily on investigating novel treatment approaches for ex-serving ADF personnel with PTSD and their families.
Her recent focus of research was the investigation of Compassionate Mind Training for ex-service personnel with PTSD and their partners to improve psychological outcomes and relationship satisfaction. Dr. Hampton’s work has also focused on the development of targeted interventions to improve outcomes for transitioning ADF members who have been identified as “at risk” of poor adjustment to civilian life after service.
Dr. Hampton is passionate about the discovery and implementation of innovative interventions for all trauma-affected people and groups in order that they can move forward from their traumatic experiences.
