Mr John Gilmour is a Research Assistant in the Veteran Medical Health Initiative at the Gallipoli Medical Research Institute. Mr Gilmour completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the University of Southern Queensland in 2016, achieving First Class Honours. He was awarded a ReDTrain Summer Research Scholarship in 2016, and has received numerous awards for his involvement in student representation. Mr Gilmour is currently completing a PhD in Social Psychology at USQ, focusing on social support through social media. He also works as an Academic and Research Assistant at the University of Southern Queensland.
Mr Gilmour has worked on projects relating to anxiety, information processing, rural employment, social capital, suicide prevention, information professionals, social inclusion, food security, pain management in children, psychometrics, and PTSD. His research interests are anxiety, social media and psychology, and statistics.
