Afolabi Akanbi

Afolabi Akanbi joined Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation in July 2019 as a PhD student with a focus on liver disease. His project focuses on targeting excess iron in alcoholic liver disease (ALD) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The outcome of this project will illustrate how excess iron plays a role in advancing liver disease. Afolabi previously completed his Bachelor and Masters in Engineering at The University of New South Wales.
