Gallipoli Medical Research is delighted to welcome veteran family and suicide prevention advocate Gwen Cherne as a new Board member.

Gwen’s previous role as the inaugural Veteran Family Advocate Commissioner, as well as her work with the Council of the Australian War Memorial, National Suicide Prevention Office Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission, and Invictus Australia, means that she brings unparalleled insight, lived experience, and a powerful commitment to supporting defence and veteran families. Her leadership in mental health, suicide prevention, and veteran-family advocacy—shaped by years of service, community work, and personal resilience—will be invaluable to our mission.
