Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Honourable Tim Mander MP visited Greenslopes Private Hospital to launch the initiative.
“There are so many parallels between sport and military service: teamwork; leadership; physical fitness; endurance; and tactical thinking, to name a few,” Minister Mander said.
“The partnerships will bring the unifying power of sport to honour, support, and uplift Australian military veterans,” he said.
Gallipoli Medical Research CEO Miriam Kent said this collaboration recognises that sport provides a trusted gateway to belonging and recovery for veterans.
“Sport can play a vital and visible role in honouring, supporting, and empowering veterans and their families,” Miriam said.
