In the lead up Remembrance Day, pause to honour our brave service personnel – past and present – and then get moving to support veterans into the future!

Get your friends, family or community group together for the Run, Walk or Wheel for Remembrance 2020, presented by the Rotary Club of Carindale in support of the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation (GMRF).

Taking inspiration from the discipline and dedication shown by our veterans, GMRF strives to discover innovative solutions to major health problems. With a focus on veteran mental health, liver disease and liver cancer, and respiratory illness, our research extends from the scientific laboratory to the hospital bedside and out into the community. By supporting GMRF’s research, you will be fighting the impact of serious illness right now and creating the brighter, healthier futures our veterans and their families deserve.

The Run, Walk or Wheel for Remembrance 2020 is a virtual event open to everyone! You can take part no matter your age, ability level or where you live.

Getting Involved is easy!

  1. Register: Complete your registration as an individual or get a team together. As part of your registration you’ll get a wristband and bib to personalise with your team name or reason for participating. Every registered participant and fundraiser will also be in the running for a range of great prizes, including a $300 Westfield shopping voucher.
  2. Join Our Community: Once you’ve registered, you can join our Facebook Community and stay in the loop with regular updates about the event and the impact your support is making. Spread the word about the event with your friends and family. Share a selfie and your motivation for participating and supporting Remembrance through research.
  3. Set up your Fundraising page: After you have registered, take your involvement in the Run, Walk or Wheel for Remembrance to the next level by setting up a fundraising page.  Share your page on social media to encourage your family and friends to donate. As your tally rises, you can take pride in the fact that every cent donated funds research that will make a real and lasting impact in the lives of our veterans and their families.
  4. Get going!  Walk, run or wheel at your own pace! Nominate your preferred distance – 2km, 5km or 10km or choose your own goal. You can do the distance in one go or break it up over the weekend – it’s completely up to you! Use the mobile App Strava or RunKeeper and track your training progress, share photos and your completed result on social media to share with the community.
