You could own a genuine piece of cricketing history, and support life-changing medical research in the process.

For the duration of the Ashes Series, GMRF is holding an online auction for a cricket bat signed by the Australian Test Touring team from the 1972 Ashes Series. Signatures of particular note include cricketing greats Ian Chappell, Bob Massie, Dennis Lillee and Rod Marsh. The back of the bat includes signatures from the Yorkshire and Lancashire teams.

The Australian cricket team toured England in the 1972 season to play a five-match Test series against England for the Ashes. The series was drawn 2-2 and England retained the Ashes. It remains the last Ashes series to be drawn.

As well as owning a rare piece of cricket history, you cold be part of life-changing research. All proceeds raised from the sale of this item will go directly towards GMRF’s innovative medical research into important health issues such as veteran mental health research and the development of new treatment options for liver cancer. Now that’s what we call a win-win!

This item was donated to GMRF by  generous supporter Adjunct Professor Phillip Morris for the purpose of fundraising for our research.
