Through September, GMR is hosting Grand Rounds at Greenslopes Private Hospital (GPH) in celebration of Ramsay Health Care Research Month. Grand Rounds bring together GMR and GPH researchers and clinicians to discuss our latest discoveries in medical research and veteran mental health.
Week one: GMR Veteran Mental Health Research Fellow Dr Sanket Raut presented recent research exploring how to improve care for veterans living with PTSD.
The research examines polypharmacy in veterans, including the potential side effects and drug interactions associated with taking multiple medications. The findings will inform the development of a Quality Use of Medicines online education module, and provides health practitioners with a practical, evidence-based Decision Support Tool to identify potential issues with multiple psychotropic medications earlier and support safer medication use.
