Following a welcome from Greenslopes Private Hospital CEO Justin Greenwell, MC Carlie Neilsen opened proceedings with Laurence Binyon’s poem For the Fallen.

RAAF Base Amberley Airforce Chaplain Miljan Popovic led the service in prayer before Gallipoli Medical Research’s Patron Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO made the Anzac dedication.

The Cantrice Choir from Somerville House performed In Flanders Fields and Abide With Me before Legacy Brisbane CEO Brendan Cox stated The Anzac Resolution.

We were honoured to have Commander Joint Health and Surgeon General Australian Defence Force Rear Admiral Sonya Bennett AM give the special address this year.

Wreaths were laid before Air Vice-Marshal (Retd) Professor Hugh Bartholomeusz OAM RFD recited The Ode. The service finished with The Last Post, one minute’s silence, Reveille and the Australian and New Zealand national anthems.

Thankfully, the rain held off until after the service and guests joined in the community Gunfire Breakfast at the hospital.
