The GMRF Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is proud to be a site vendor in the newly established Queensland Health Clinical Trials Portal.

The Queensland Clinical Trials Portal, launched on 2 December 2020, is a centralised, web-based ‘one stop shop’ gateway that brings together Queensland based clinical research groups, supporting organisations and information, and national and international companies with a presence in Queensland.

This portal provides the opportunity for external clients, both national and international, to search for suitable clinical trial sites and other third party vendors who provide services to and support the clinical trial landscape in order to assist the client to conduct important clinical trials in Queensland

The portal will enable a streamlined process for site and vendor selection to enhance the efficiency of obtaining a mutual outcome, which is to recruit and complete these important trials in a timely manner.

GMRF’s Associate Director of Clinical Trials Dr Suzanne Elliott is proud that the team is part of the portal and excited by what it means for patients accessing new treatments.

“One thing that’s really vibrant in Queensland is the collegiate nature of trials and all of the different vendors for clinical trials.” Dr Elliott says.

“The streamlined start up process offered through the portal, and other incentives offered to small biotechs will encourage growth and partnership with clinical trials site like ours. The benefit is in when these new trials move to phase two and three, meaning our patients get first access to potentially ground-breaking new drug treatments.”
