Released today was the Senate Inquiry in Transition from the Australian Defence Force (ADF).  Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation (GMRF) applauds the committee on their robust and sensible suite of recommendations for improving outcomes for ADF members transitioning from active service.

These recommendations focus on optimising support provisions to ADF personnel in their post service lives. We are particularly pleased to see the attention given to issues facing defence families, ADF female members, PTSD affected members and those discharged on medical grounds.

The Senate Inquiry into transition from the ADF is now available online.

We are proud to say GMRF Veteran Mental Health Lead Researcher; Dr Madeline Romaniuk – a clinical psychologist who specializes in both research and practice aimed at improving the assessment, treatment and psycho-social support of ADF personnel – was a key contributor to the inquiry and many of her research insights have informed the development of inquiry recommendations.

We congratulate Dr Romaniuk and recognise this as yet another example of what can be achieved at GMRF when we dedicate our time, effort, talents and resources to changing lives through research.
