Overview
The
Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation seeks to support all research
which is substantially undertaken at Greenslopes Private Hospital
and meets the objectives of the Foundation. Examples of research
that have or would be supported by the Foundation include (but are
not limited to):

The
Gallipoli Medical Research Centre was officially opened on 1 June
2007. The Centre which includes PC2 laboratories, a stat laboratory
and clean rooms was made possible with financial support from the
Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation, its major partners and the
Federal Government.

Research Strengths
The major
strengths of research conducted at GPH over the last 30 years, and
where we have established an international reputation, are in hypertension,
cardiovascular disease, endocrinology and cancer
fields. This research has focussed on:

primary aldosteronism, renal artery stenosis, phaeochromocytoma,
reninoma and pseudohypoaldosteronism type 2)

Greenslopes
Private Hospital is Australia’s largest private hospital and
a tertiary referral centre for patients with serious illnesses.
As a teaching hospital with the University of Queensland, Greenslopes
plays a major role in teaching medical students and training specialists.
There is a full range of medical and support services available
allowing efficient, high quality clinically based research to thrive
on site.
