It’s a True Blue Day
19 May 2006
The Gallipoli Research Foundation at Greenslopes Private Hospital
is asking: “Are you True Blue?”
The Hospital, along with a number of RSL Clubs and others are celebrating
True Blue Day as part of the Foundation’s True Blue Appeal
to raise awareness and dollars for vital medical research on the
Hospital site.
“We’ve seen some amazing examples of mateship lately,
and just what it means to be ‘true blue’. Now we’re
asking people to be ‘true blue’ and help their mates
by giving to the True Blue Appeal,” Foundation Fundraising
Manager, Robynne Milne said.
Kevin Rudd, recently returned from walking the Kokoda Track, is
lending his support to the Appeal.
“
We must continue to remember the fallen from all theatres of war,
and help those who remain. It’s important to honour them and
to find practical ways to acknowledge their outstanding sacrifice.
That is why I support the Gallipoli Research Foundation at Greenslopes
Private Hospital. The Foundation aims to become a centre of excellence
in medical research and by doing so, leave a lasting legacy to the
veteran and war widow community,” Kevin said.
