$5 Million grant funding received from the Federal Government
12 May 2006
The Gallipoli Research Foundation has received a $5Million grant
as part of the Federal Government’s increased commitment to
medical research as outlined in the Budget 2006-07 released earlier
this week.
In a media release from Tony Abbott MHR, Minister for Health and
Ageing (click here), the Foundation is listed as one of only three
Queensland research centres to receive part of a total funding pool
of $163Million. The funds will be given to “contribute to the
establishment of a research laboratory at Greenslopes Private Teaching
Hospital to conduct research in hypertension, cardiovascular disease,
endocrinology and cancer”.
The Foundation is sincerely appreciative of the Government’s
outstanding support and confident that the funds will enable significant
further development in research activities on the Greenslopes Private
Hospital site.
