Art in the Foyer

7 November 2008

The works of highly acclaimed local and interstate artists will be showcased at Art in the Foyer , a spectacular fundraising event for the Gallipoli Research Foundation at Greenslopes Private Hospital .

More than 100 pieces from artists including David Hinchcliffe, Rhyl Hinwood , Leon Pericles, David Groom, Pam Walpole and Amanda Shadforth will be offered for sale from Sunday 16 – Friday 21 November between the hours of 10am and 4pm.

“Art in the Foyer is an excellent opportunity for art lovers to view a diverse range of artists who all produce superb work,” said Gallipoli Research Foundation Executive Officer, Robynne Milne.  “Last year's inaugural event was an outstanding success and we are very excited about this year's visually stunning display,” she added.

Funds raised from the sale of artworks will be used by the Foundation to support vital medical research in the Gallipoli Research Centre on the Hospital campus. Research interests include targeted and immune therapy for cancer sufferers and research into liver disease and hepatitis.

The Gallipoli Research Foundation supports the efforts of researchers to find causes, cures, better management methods and improved medications and treatments for a range of major conditions which affect the health of veterans and the Australian community at large.
