Bruce
Buchanan
Bruce
Buchanan was born in Brisbane. He studied art at the Central Technical
College and developed his watercolour technique during his university
architectural training. He is now the director of an architectural
practice but also paints on a regular basis.
His
work is influenced by first-hand experience of the Outback and of
coastal areas such as Moreton Bay. He is also interested in interpreting
forms and tonal contrasts of structures within the context of the
urban and industrial landscape.
His
work has been acquired for several public collections, including
Stanthorpe and Ipswich Regional Gallery, private and corporate collections
throughout Australia and he was the winner of the prestigious 2004
Wagstaff Piling National Art Prize.
