"Girls night out" in aid of Cancer Research at Restaurant Rapide, Coorparoo

Sam and Annie Walters from Restaurant Rapide wanted to raise money for cancer research when Annie’s sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and commenced treatment at the Cyril Gilbert Cancer Centre at Greenslopes Private Hospital. And what does Sam do best! Prepare and present outstanding food at their  wonderful restaurant “Rapide” in Coorparoo. And so commenced the “Girls night Out” timed for ladies to escape Game 2 of the State of Origin! The night kicked off with lovely bubbly and a vast assay of tasty nibbles by the braziers outside the restaurant with a buzz for the ladies meeting their friends or making new ones. We then moved inside to be seated and served with Sam’s wonderful main meal of roasted chicken breast. Dessert followed, which although already well and truly satisfied, one could not be passed as it included every girls favourite...chocolate! Raffle Tickets were sold to increase the donation to cancer research and one very lucky lady won a dinner for 8 cooked by Sam in the comfort of her own home.  Others were lucky enough to go home with some lovely wine. It was a sell out event and a huge success raising $2,000 for the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation. The night was such a success that Sam wants to make it an annual event.

Sincere thanks to Sam, Annie and all the staff at Rapide for a fantastic night of fun and exquisite food....and all for a great cause.
